Rather than disagreeing with the naming convention I choose to use for my projects ... maybe you could take a closer look and recognize the medium this is presented in. Then when you recognize what this REALLY is instead of a Dragunov, try to understand the limitations of this medium.
No, it's not a Dragunov. But it will knock a man out of a paintball game just as well as any other marker I've developed.
Unfortunately, the longest barrel I can find for a paintball marker is only around 22 inches (not including suppressors and other such attachments. At one point I had a more Dragunov style "double length" handguard, but it made the barrel in this picture look really stubby by comparison.
This forced me to go back to the classic AK handguard - you know Dragunovs, so you know they have tremendously looooooong barrels which would be infeasible to use on a paintball marker and would yield no appreciable results.
So, like my SCAR/CQB project, I had to compromise by scaling down the rest of the marker to make the barrel at least -look- longer. Keep in mind that in order to be considered a successful project, this Dragunov must also be able to perform in the field.
Also working against me is the blocky shape of the Tippmann X7, which was designed to resemble a SCAR in the first place. Other platforms like AK, AR, MP5, etc, tend to come out looking "wrong" in some way or another. This had to be somewhat disguised.
