~Travis-English
Wingnut
Artist | Hobbyist | Varied
Canada
Travis English, also known as 'Wingnut' to his friends and foes alike, works as a security guard somewhere on Vancouver Island. While his first and most passionate hobby is paintball, Wingnut's other hobbies also include flight simulation, video games of almost every imaginable variety (dating back to the Commodore 64 age), writing - both creative and journalistic, and conducting various handyman projects around the house.

In the nature of his job, Travis is blessed with a lot of time to evaluate and express his thoughts, but unfortunately a chronic lack of sleep often has him dead on his feet. Suggested also is the nature of security work is at least in part responsible for his fixation with zombies, urban exploration, and stories of human survival.

One of Wingnut's signatures is his saying, "Every rifle, every bullet, every scar has its story."

He expresses this not just by using his expansive paintball collection to build a bewildering variety of different shapes and configurations, but also by investing into each new project its own signature, its own character, its own history. As such, many pieces of art within his gallery are often accompanied by a short expose, often as if they were simply pawns in an all-too-human drama.

When it comes to paintball, Wingnut is an experienced bush and scenario player with a fifteen-year background, starting from the sleepy back woods of the Comox Valley before winding up on Team Hellfire and one of the most committed regulars of the Island United community. He is also a very determined tank hunter, compared to the likes of Ahab and his whale, and chases them down relentlessly.
